What is COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Porsche? — This matched standard leather colour lets you refresh and repair Porsche leather true to the original, for a lasting, even, factory-look finish.
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Porsche) is a precisely matched standard leather colour for the professional repair, refresh and re-colouring of Porsche leather interiors. The colours are built from original Porsche colour samples and formulated to blend seamlessly into existing surfaces. Perfect for seat bolsters, steering wheels, armrests, door cards and any pigmented smooth leather inside the car where colour accuracy and an OEM look really matter.
💡 Day-to-day from Detailing1: With Porsche jobs we see the same thing over and over — colour loss on seat bolsters and steering wheels gets masked with cheap care spray that doesn't last four weeks. Dab Leather Colour (Porsche) on with a microfibre pad in 2–3 thin coats, let it dry 30 min between coats, then seal at the end with Top Coat Dull — the result lasts 2–3 years and looks factory-fresh.
You lay Leather Colour (Porsche) down in 2–3 thin coats, drying 30 min between them, then seal at the end with Top Coat. Thin coats hold for years; thick coats crack.
Before any colour goes on, wash the leather with leather cleaner and degrease it with Plastic Cleaner or cleaning alcohol. Fill deep cracks and abrasion marks with Filler or Super Filler and sand them flush with 1000-grit abrasive fleece. Then you dab the Porsche shades on with a microfibre pad, work them out with a soft brush, or — on large repairs — lay them down with a spray bottle.
Once it's fully cured for at least 4 hours, seal with Top Coat — Dull for the matte original OEM look, Glossy for a mid sheen, High Gloss for maximum brilliance. One litre of Leather Colour covers about 8–10 m² of leather; a 250 ml bottle is enough for a full pair of seats plus the steering wheel. The same workflow works for every part, from the seat cushion through the door card to the centre armrest.
Leather Colour (Porsche) is for pigmented smooth leather only — the standard in modern automotive interiors. Natural leather, aniline leather and suede behave differently and need other COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formula bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leather, stays flexible and moves with the leather without cracking. On natural or open-pore aniline leather the colour soaks into the fibre unevenly and leaves it blotchy — that's where Leather Fresh (Porsche) as the care option, or dedicated aniline lines, come in. Suede, velour and Alcantara get treated with Nubuk Fresh (Porsche), which keeps the rough fibre structure intact instead of gluing it shut.
When colour accuracy to the original factory shade matters and you're restoring a large part, Leather Colour is the right call. When you only need to fix a small spot (steering-wheel wear, a single crack), Fluid Leather (Porsche) in the 20 ml tube goes further and is more precise. When the leather just looks slightly faded, Leather Fresh as the care option is usually enough.
Leather Colour (Porsche) is the professional pick for detailers, independent trade shops and keen owners who put value retention and original Porsche colour accuracy above quick care fixes.
On lease returns, used-car prep and classic and youngtimer restorations, OEM colour accuracy decides value retention and resale price. The professional 4-step workflow (clean, sand, colour, seal) takes 4 hours including drying per part and delivers a result that looks factory-fresh for 2–3 years. One litre of Leather Colour works out at about 30 cents per 100 ml of worked surface — a full cost estimate including Top Coat lands at around 12 euros per part.
For pure care routines without pro tools, Leather Colour is overkill — Leather Fresh (Porsche) is plenty there. For spot repairs on the steering wheel or single cracks, Fluid Leather or the Leather Care Sets (Porsche) make more sense. But if you want to restore full seat bolsters, steering wheels or door cards and you care about original Porsche colour accuracy, there's no way around the 1-litre bottle or the 250 ml unit.

Not sure about Koch-Chemie × COLOURLOCK COLOURLOCK "Leather Colour" (Porsche) — Standard leather colour for Porsche? Get it explained:
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Porsche) is a water-based, elastic standard leather dye in original Porsche shades. It is used for repairing, refreshing, or recoloring pigmented smooth leather in vehicle interiors — seats, steering wheels, armrests, door panels.
First, thoroughly clean and degrease the leather. Fill and sand any damage with filler. Then, dab, wipe, or spray on thin layers of Leather Colour — 2–3 thin coats are better than one thick one. After complete drying, seal with Top Coat (Dull/Glossy/High Gloss).
Leather Colour is the professional repair dye (1L/250ml, can be sealed with Top Coat). Leather Fresh is the care colour cream (1L/100ml) for lighter touch-ups without extensive preparation. For deep abrasion → Leather Colour; for dull surfaces → Leather Fresh.
The shades are based on original Porsche factory color samples. For heavily faded leather, we still recommend a color test in an inconspicuous area, as the original leather may darken or fade over the years.
Three classics: (1) Leather not degreased beforehand — paint does not adhere. (2) Too thick a layer applied — cracks when drying. (3) Top coat sealing omitted — abrasion resistance less than 6 months. With proper preparation, the result lasts 2–3 years.
Yes, for lasting abrasion resistance. Without Top Coat, the color on seat bolsters and steering wheels will wear off again within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull = matte-original (OEM look), Glossy = medium gloss, High Gloss = high gloss.
Care instructions for Leather Colour (Porsche):
Leather Colour (Porsche) is exclusively suitable for pigmented smooth leather – the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require other COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formulation bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leathers, remains elastic, and accommodates leather movements without cracking. On natural leather or open-pored aniline leather, the color absorbs unevenly into the fibers and stains the leather – here, Leather Fresh (Porsche) as a care variant or special aniline lines are used. Suede, nubuck, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Porsche), which preserves the rough fiber structure instead of gluing it together.
If color accuracy to the original factory color is crucial and the component is to be extensively restored, Leather Colour is the right choice. If only a small area (steering wheel abrasion, single tear) needs to be repaired, Fluid Leather (Porsche) in the 20-ml tube is more economical and precise. If the leather only appears slightly faded, Leather Fresh as a care variant is usually sufficient.
