It is precisely this ready-to-use approach that distinguishes the ASC from the alkaline Green Star from the same brand: the latter is a concentrate for heavy workshop grime, while the former is a mild, fast helper for daily interior care. The ASC is not a replacement for the universal cleaner, but rather its lighter counterpart for what you need daily and in any quantity.

Practical tip from Detailing1: Do not spray directly on displays, buttons, or high-gloss trims. The mist from the spray bottle would otherwise penetrate display edges, button gaps, and speaker grilles and settle there as a fine film that you won't be able to remove later. Instead, spray 2–3 bursts onto the folded surface of your microfiber cloth and work with it on the surface. Only on large, closed surfaces such as door panels or headliners should you spray directly onto the component — there, the mist is not an issue.

Spray, wait 30 seconds, follow with microfiber

Spray Koch-Chemie Allround Surface Cleaner undiluted onto the surface from a distance of 10–15 cm, let it sit for 15–30 seconds, and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth. No more preparation is needed.

On larger surfaces such as the dashboard, door panels, or headliner, three to five sprays per component are sufficient. Give the cleaner a moment to dissolve skin oils, fingerprints, and the dust-binding layer, then wipe evenly with the dry side of your cloth. For air vents, buttons, and trim strips, spray onto the cloth first and work into the edges from there.

Treat the headliner with particular care: only moisten the cloth, never spray directly onto the component. The headliner fabric must not be soaked, otherwise the adhesive underneath will come loose. With ASC, work flat and in long strokes to prevent dry edges between wet and untreated areas.

A common mistake is too much product and too long an exposure time. If the ASC dries, fine streaks remain, which you then have to re-moisten and wipe away — an avoidable extra step. Therefore, work in sections rather than large areas and keep the exposure time under one minute.

With a cleaning gun like Tornador or Cyclone, the ASC can also be worked into textiles, seat seams, and door compartments, where you can't reach with a cloth alone. The pH-neutral formulation is designed for this: it brings the dirt into a foam and can be absorbed with little residue. When using the gun method, follow up with compressed air or an absorbent cloth to ensure no moisture remains in the component.

Strengths and limitations of ASC in everyday use

The ASC is pH-neutral and ready-to-use. This makes it safe on sensitive surfaces, but it reduces cleaning power on heavily soiled or greasy surfaces. This is intentionally formulated this way, not a defect.

On typical everyday dirt, the Allround Surface Cleaner performs convincingly: skin oil on the steering wheel, fingerprints on the touchscreen, dust film on the center console, pollen on the A-pillar, white spots on black plastic. The product was formulated for this.

On coated leather, piano black, and high-gloss trim, the neutral pH value is an additional safety factor that eliminates the material uncertainty that always comes with alkaline interior cleaners. You don't have to consider before each application whether the product matches the material — for normal plastic, glass, and leather surfaces in the vehicle, the ASC is a safe choice.

What the ASC does not do: It does not remove old nicotine films, oily workshop grime on door frames, or ingrained coffee stains in fabric upholstery. Heavily yellowed plastics at the entry or dried cola splashes in the cup holder also require more power. If your interior is regularly maintained, the Allround Surface Cleaner is your product.

Those who work in fleets, workshops, or as mobile detailers should switch directly to the 10-liter canister and refill spray bottles as needed. A full detailing of a car interior consumes between 80 and 150 ml of product. The 10-liter canister is therefore sufficient for around 60 to 120 complete detailings, depending on the degree of contamination and working method.

The ASC is less suitable if you primarily deal with extreme cases — smoker vehicles, moldy seats, dried coffee on microfiber seat covers, paint and grease splashes from car service. Application

Always spray the ASC onto a clean microfiber cloth, not directly onto the surface — especially for displays, speedometer glass, and piano black trim. Otherwise, the spray mist will settle in gaps and run uncontrollably. Work in manageable sections so that the cloth doesn't dry out in between.

For basic cleaning, apply undiluted, clean in circular motions, and immediately wipe with a second, dry microfiber cloth. Two cloths are the rule: one for loosening, one for absorbing. For Alcantara and textiles, dilute 1:5 to 1:10 and work selectively so that the fiber dries evenly.

For ventilation grilles, steering wheel seams, and textured surfaces, use a soft detailing brush to work in the cleaner. With a Tornador or Cyclone, you can disperse the ASC in a fine mist and blow out loosened dirt from crevices and seams — this is the workflow we use to finish every interior in the Detailing1 wash bay.

Notes: Never spray the headliner directly — the fabric must not get soaked, otherwise the adhesive underneath will loosen and the headliner will sag. On Alcantara, open-pore fabric upholstery, and microfiber seat covers, use a dilution of 1:5 to 1:10 and apply the cleaner via the cloth, not directly onto the material. After cleaning leather, follow up with a leather conditioner to maintain its re-greasing properties. For oily workshop surfaces, dried-on nicotine film, and yellowed door sills, the neutral ASC is not sufficient — here you should use the alkaline Koch-Chemie Green Star.
